What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our client, a flavour manufacturing company based in Co. Wexford.

This is a permanent position.

This position will be required to work on a shift pattern.

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Operation and maintenance of Plant Utility systems including Boilers, Compressors, Chillers, Sprinkler Pumps, Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment.

  • Carry out small scale fabrication for in-house modifications and improvements.

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, recording activities on the maintenance system.

  • Regular inspect plant production support systems and equipment in order to support effective plant operation.

  • Provide technical assessment and support of equipment to determine what components should be repaired or replaced to maximise equipment performance.

  • Maintain tools, equipment and Company assets in good condition in order to ensure effective response to mechanical or technical problems.

  • Liaise with suppliers in order to ensure proper capabilities, conformance, ordering in order to maximise equipment performance.

  • Develop and maintain effective preventative maintenance programme.

  • Inspect facility to assure adherence to safety and operating policies and GMP using Company policies and procedures in order to assure the quality of the manufactured product.

  • Manage and maintain all relevant documentation ensuring that information is current.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrical trade qualification.

  • 3-5 years experience in the maintenance profession including good mechanical, electrical or instrumentation skills.

  • Experience in operating computerized maintenance management system.

  • Knowledge of ATEX and machinery directive requirements.

  • Experience of working in a food/healthcare manufacturing environment desirable.

  • Knowledge of engineering/process instrumentation.

  • Ability to measure instrument variation and apply corrections.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge and application of GMP in a manufacturing environment.

  • Organised, methodical, tidy and the ability to work in a controlled and structured way.
