What you need to know

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will have a central role in the delivery of the financial performance. This is fantastic job opportunity with a leading niche manufacturer in their sector with over 20 years of business expertise.

The Financial Controller will lead, direct, the delivery of financial performance. You will be a key member of the management team in guiding financial performance and assisting with commercial decision making.

This will suit an experienced Financial or Management Accountant at least 5 + years' experience ideally in Manufacturing or Construction Sector. This job is based in Co. Offaly.

This is a permanent job based.

Key duties & responsibilities: 

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.

  • Preparation of cash flow statements & forecast reports.

  • Profitability Reporting.

  • Cost-Tracking for various multiple Projects and advising on timely corrective actions as necessary.

  • Preparation of timely submission of statutory returns.

  • Monthly reporting and company performance.

  • Responsibility for the operation, function, and continuous improvement of all the Accounting and Financial Systems & Controls

  • Manage Insurance and banking relationships.

  • Monitor spending and budgets.

  • Financial forecasting and risk analysis

  • Advising on how to reduce costs and increase profits.

  • Assist external Auditors with yearend accounts.

  • Manage ad hoc projects

  • Oversee a finance team of up to 2.

What are we looking for? 

  • Qualified Accountant ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA.

  • Hands-on experience with MS Office and accounting software.

  • 4 + years post qualified ideally and 3 of those in managing a finance function within industry.

  • People management experience.

  • Willing to adapt an ever-changing work environment.  

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must be results driven and high attention to detail.
