What you need to know

Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a- ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR for our client, based in the SOUTH KILKENNY region.

This is a permanent days role.

 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of engineers. 

  • Ensure consistent operational delivery and cost-efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with Helpdesk and Contract Management Teams. 

  • Provide technical advice and assistance to engineers.

  • Improve service delivery and achieve SLA/KPI targets. 

  • Conduct HR processes and engineer audits. 

  • Oversee health and safety aspects of all work. 

  • Coordinate daily engineering tasks. 

  • Maintain equipment and H&S compliance. 

  • Manage company systems and training matrix. 

  • Maximize manufacturing uptime and monitor PM routines. 

  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory. 

  • Manage maintenance and resource budgets. 

  • Collaborate on new product launches and cost-saving initiatives. 

  • Identify and address risks to product quality and compliance. 

  • Address training and capability gaps. 

  • Contribute to the development of the Quality Management System. 

  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives. 

  • Promote energy conservation. 

  • Liaise with Group Engineering and procurement teams. 

  • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses to H&S Manager.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 3rd Level Qualification- Engineering.

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within Food Manufacturing or similar process environment.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, including maintenance, utilities, and equipment.

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and experience in implementing lean initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.

  • Project Management experience. 

  • Good IT Skills MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.) 

  • Strong interpersonal skills & organisational skills- ability to build relationships.
